Job Summary: Inventory Specialist is responsible for processing returns, shipping product back to vendor, ensuring vendors process credit. Processing returns for recalls; processing receipts in PMM and POU for invoice payment.
Inventory Specialist will also Builds and maintains relationships with nursing team. Seeks to understand colleague's priorities, working styles and develop open lines of communication. Also Analyze and record costs to the appropriate accounts.
The CS-OR (Central Supply Operating Rooms) material department provides supplies and services to the clinical staff within the operating rooms supply core spaces. The department has 1-manager 2-supervisors, 1-inventory specialist and 4-leads across two multi-start shifts. The department is manned 24 hrs daily including weekends and holidays.
Department/Unit Summary: Vanderbilt University Medical Center's supply chain department is designed to enable physicians and clinicians to enhance quality outcomes and patient safety. Our team is comprised of almost 300 employees who strive to ensure efficient and successful behind-the-scenes operations for the hospital system.
Through Vanderbilt Health Supply Chain Solutions we help hospitals, practices and health systems achieve clinical integration in their supply chains to increase efficiency, reduce cost and improve accuracy of scheduling and delivery of medical supplies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Knowledge of current system or experience in similar systems within healthcare supply chain.
- Knowledge of inventory related to cardio-vascular service line or healthcare inventory knowledge.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel with MS Access as a bonus capability.
- Ability to communicate effectively within all levels of the organization including Executive Leadership and Surgeons.
- Keen ability to handle stress in a healthcare environment, specifically within OR spaces.
- Flexibility to work outside of core hours including weekends, if required.

Position Shift:
- 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday, must be available to work weekends
