  • BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB
    • Responsible for the purchasing and storage of all items (except capital equipment) please delete for the food service department including medical nutritional products from the pharmacy wholesaler. Coordinates the annual physical inventory. Responsible for standards of sanitation, safety and security. Provides assistance in the functioning of the department as needed.
  • JOB REQUIREMENTS
    • Minimum Education
      • High School diploma required
    • Minimum Work Experience
      • Food service experience required, including supervision and purchasing.
    • Required Licenses/Certifications for position
      • NO
    • Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
      • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written,) MS Office skills and Excel skills, ability to solve problems, good math skills, excellent organization and time management skills, leadership skills, ability to identify appropriate high quality products, fiscal responsibility including maximum savings from GPO, customer service focused, mentor to staff and students.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
    • Note: Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
    • Heavy lifting, pushing and pulling is required up to 50 lbs occasionally, 20-30 lbs frequently and 10 lbs constantly to move objects of up to 150 lbs. Sudden emergency situations have the potential for exposure to lifting or moving of up to 150 lbs. Frequent bending, walking, sitting, squatting, reaching and standing are required. Keyboard/computer use and/or repetitive motions may be required.

As a Comprehensive Regional Pediatric Center, Children's Hospital offers full capabilities to care for seriously ill children in a unique pediatric environment and offers the services of many different pediatric subspecialties. Children's Hospital works jointly with the University of Tennessee Medical Center to ensure that injured children in this region receive trauma care at the institution most appropriate for the child's needs. We also assist smaller hospitals by providing pediatric health care training opportunities.
