The University of South Carolina is seeking a Supply Procurement Manager who is interested in a full-time career within a college health environment. The University of South Carolina’s University Health Services employs approximately 200 staff members with an annual operating budget of more than $16,000,000.
This highly demanding position is responsible for buying the best quality equipment and goods and services at the most competitive prices, in addition to overseeing supply chain management for University Health Services. Prepares purchase requisitions, reviews purchase orders, assures timely delivery of materials, processes paperwork for accounts payable and coordinates shipment of outgoing packages, returns, etc. Acts as a liaison between the University of South Carolina and vendors to coordinate the purchase, receipt and delivery of supplies to the University Health Services. Responds to calls and other inquiries from vendors and internal clients regarding supplies and equipment. Resolves billing discrepancies in collaboration with internal clients. Reviews invoices for agreement with terms of purchase orders. Maintains electronic inventory of supplies and equipment and establishes re-order criteria. Examines existing procedures or opportunities for streamlining processes to meet organizational needs. Position will be responsible for initiating bids and proposals such as Request For Proposal (RFP), Best Value Bids (BVB), Fixed Price Bids (FPB) and the like.
The typical work week is Monday thru Friday 8:00 am- 5:00 pm. Position will typically work 40 hours per week, however based on duties of position, individual may be called to assist with campus and departmental crises during evenings and weekends and during peak periods of high patient volume. Position is considered essential staff.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 4 years work experience as a supervisor in a large supply services or property control operation.
Preferred Qualifications: Prefer experience in health care operations. Prefer working knowledge of inventory control procedures and experience utilizing an electronic inventory management system. Prefer experience initiating/preparing bids and proposals such RFP’s, BVB’s, FPB’s and the like.
