Position: Pharmacy Purchasing Manager, (Inpatient) Department: Inpatient Pharmacy Schedule: Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Associate Director of Inpatient Pharmacy Operations, and according to department policies & procedures and guidelines, is responsible for procurement of all medications in inpatient and mixed-use settings of the hospital and its clinics, and for the maintenance of pharmacy medication and supply inventory to support the provision of cost-effective, patient-focused pharmacy services. Responsible for training and managing the daily activities of purchasing support staff. Supervises purchasing staff and inpatient technicians and pharmacists in the placement of orders, inventory & fulfillment processes, including controlled substances. Oversees the quality and safety of packaging and storage of medications. Helps develop budget, strategy, and goals for the department. Leads initiatives to improve efficiency, patient care, and patient & customer satisfaction. Performs various administrative projects as assigned.

EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited College of Pharmacy required. Advanced degree (MS, MBA or MHA) preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED: Current license to practice as a Pharmacist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts from the Board of Registration in Pharmacy is required.
EXPERIENCE: Requires at least three years of related experience, including drug purchasing and inventory management. One year experience in personnel management and one year experience in inpatient pharmacy preferred
