Job Summary:
The Sales Manager is responsible for the year-round development and management of the distribution channels for sales of Geisinger Gold Medicare Advantage HMO and PPO plans, and Medicare supplement plans. Supervises and provides oversight, leadership and direction to the Medicare Field Sales Representatives (full-time and flex) to ensure daily activities are appropriate to maximize the selling effort to meet or exceed production sales goals
Competencies and Skills:
Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills required for effective interaction with both internal staff and external customers.
Demonstrates excellent organizational, operations and analytical proficiency including technical skills pertinent to related problem solving and information and computer software systems.
Demonstrates self-starter and independent approach to work.
Demonstrates cohesive and flexible approach to work including oversight of field sales staff. Demonstrates proficiency in the use of basic computer programs such as those in Microsoft Office with the ability to learn and use more advanced programs such as Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
Education and or Experience:
Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum three years of experience in direct sales, customer service and operations required, preferably in the insurance or Medicare-managed care industry. Prior management experience beneficial but not required.
Ability to obtain authorized PA. Accident & Health insurance license within 90 days of employment.
Valid Pennsylvania driver's license for travel as required.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
Work is typically performed in an office environment. Travel is required.
