Vanderbilt University Medical Center Executive Search Team is conducting a national search for a Vice President of Supply Chain Solutions . The Vice President will oversee and guide the essential operational, managerial, professional and corporate duties in support of major business activities, responsibilities and goals for the supply chain at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and the businesses of supply chain to include the Vanderbilt Health Supply Chain Solutions, the Vanderbilt Health Purchasing Collaborative and any subsidiaries.
Master's Degree (or equivalent experience) and 10+ years' experience
Healthcare experience highly desired
Direct and influential supply chain solution leadership experience
Proven experience in transforming supply chain solution offerings, including change management, practices, and organizational design
Strong organizational skills and demonstrated capacity to develop and implement strategies, plans, and solutions
Track record of taking initiative in managing competing priorities and to work effectively under pressure when facing extremely short deadlines
Strong leadership and performance management experience with ability to identify and develop talent
Ability to work easily with customers, vendors, senior/c-level leaders
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in operational related function
Identify and analyze opportunities in terms of financial, strategic and business impact on VUMC.
Follow trends and analyze data, making appropriate recommendations for partnerships or alliances.
Develop proposals and business plans that may lead to joint ventures, or start-ups, if applicable, that are consistent with the mission and values of VUMC.
Actively participate in developing, maintaining, updating and achieving short- and long-term goals for assigned areas.
Present proposals to senior management for approval.
Provide leadership over specific business segments by managing projects, fostering innovation, initiating improvement and developing new programs.
Participate in and/or lead teams in the development of opportunities, oversight of implementation of new projects and/or day to day operations.
Develop excellent professional relationships with relevant entities and individuals.
Analyze potential business relationships. Advance projects by developing and securing agreement on project plans and managing the process to these plans.
Lead and/or contribute to financial analyses that adhere to all pertinent regulatory requirements.
Lead efforts to develop term sheets regarding structure, legal documentation, and implementation plans. Ensure appropriate handoff to the designated management structure within the institution or business that will oversee the ongoing operations.
Participate in and/or lead the start-up of new operations as needed.
Provide operational oversight as needed and corporate support for existing and future entities.
Participate and cooperate with the designated VUMC Department of Finance work group to provide financial oversight.
Lead budgeting, facilities, and equipment investment and resource allocation decisions.
Participate in the hiring of key managers.
Ensure that appropriate financial management and quality control mechanisms are developed, monitored and revised for assigned areas.
Ensure that financial performance of assigned areas meets or exceeds budget in regard to revenue and expense.
Maintain personal competencies through participation in professional, industry and/or community affairs keeping abreast of trends and changing practices in the healthcare industry.
Show commitment to professional self-development through the advancement and active involvement in various healthcare associations and professional groups.
Serve as a link between the management team and boards for the established entities where applicable.
Verify appropriate policies and procedures are in place to maximize efficiency and provide adequate financial controls.
Ensure regulatory corporate compliance of all staff, entities and boards as applicable.
Oversee scheduling entity Boards as applicable.
Facilitate information flow to Boards, as applicable, and function as a link between the management team and board for the established entities.
Provide information required for the boards to perform their functions as applicable.
